The Krishna Gana Sabha has been a pioneer in curating Nama Sankeerthanam festival for the last 4 decades. The KGS has played a decisive role in nurturing the haloed Hari Nama Sankeerthanam tradition. In 1986, The Sabha featured HH Swami Haridoss Giri, for the first time in a Sabha platform in the annual Art and Dance festival during the month of Margazhi, to a veritable sea of rasikas and bhaktas. This series provided the impetus in reviving interest and re-establishing gradually declining Bhajana Sampradhayam amongst the public, KGS had also established then, a school with classes conducted by Sri Udayalur Kalyanaram Bhagavathar, to teach Hari Nama Sankeerthanam to aspiring individuals of any age. This stirred a spiritual awareness to many.
